Recent developments in Albanian pension reform

The Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority (AFSA) has recently sent to the Ministry of Finance the draft law on “On Voluntary Pension Funds” . The purpose of drafting a new law on voluntary pension funds is to develop the legal framework for defined contribution pension funds. The project law was drafted in compliance with the EU directive and OECD- IOPS principles of private pension supervision.
