The Latin American Corporate Governance Roundtable was established in April 2000. Roundtable participants come from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States and Venezuela.

The OECD and the Latin American Roundtable on Corporate Governance were recognised as being among the five main institutional supporters. Bovespa was celebrating the 100th company to join the special corporate governance listing segments of the trading board. The OECD has been providing advice and support since the first Latin American Roundtable on Corporate Governance was held in Brazil in April 2000, the same year that the Novo Mercado was launched.
