Election of Vice-President

Dr. Solange Berstein, Superintendent of Pension Fund Administrators of Chile and Vice-President of AIOS, was approved as the Vice-President of IOPS at the Annual General Meeting held on 6 November 2006 in Istanbul, Turkey.

Mr. Edward Odundo was elected as the Vice-Chair of the Technical Committee.

Principles of Private Pension Supervision

The Principles of Private Pension Supervision cover the areas of objectives, independence, adequacy of resources and powers, risk-orientation, proportionality and consistency, consultation and cooperation, confidentiality, transparency and governance. The final version of the Principles was approved by the Governing Members at the 2006 Annual General Meeting, following a period of public consultation.
